Cookie Policy

Crosslight Advice and the charities which support us (see our Privacy Policy for the full list) use a small number of cookies on our websites. This page explains what these are and why we use them.

We do not use cookies for advertising, tracking your browsing across other websites, or building a profile of you for marketing purposes. We do not use Google Analytics or any third-party analytics or advertising tracking on this site. We do use one small, optional, first-party analytics cookie set — see below — which you can decline.

If you have any questions about this policy, please contact us.

Cookies we use

We use a small number of cookies that are necessary to make specific features of our site work — for example, when you fill in one of our embedded forms or use our donation page. These are cookies that:

  • keep your session connected to the correct server while you’re filling in a form or making a donation;

  • help detect and prevent fraudulent payments on our donation form;

  • help protect our forms from spam and automated abuse.

Because these cookies come from the tools we use to power specific features — currently including Typeform, Mailchimp, Donorfy, Stripe and Google reCAPTCHA — the exact cookies in use can change from time to time as those providers update their services. This isn’t intended as an exhaustive, fixed list; rather, these are the kinds of necessary cookies you may encounter on our site. None of them are used for advertising, building a profile of you, or tracking your activity across other websites.

Optional analytics cookies

We also use a small set of cookies from our website platform Squarespace, which help us understand how many people visit our site and which pages they look at. These do not track you across other websites and are not shared with advertisers. Unlike the cookies above, these are not essential — you’ll be asked to accept or decline them when you first visit our site via a cookie banner, and your choice is remembered for future visits.

Some forms take you to other websites

If you sign-up for our newsletter, or register to attend one of our money skills courses, you will be taken to forms hosted by third parties (Mailchimp and Typeform respectively). At that point you’re on their website, not ours, and their cookie policies and privacy practices will apply (click the links above to read).

Videos

We embed videos hosted on Vimeo on some pages of our site. Based on our current testing, our video embeds do not set cookies.

Managing cookies

You can accept or decline the optional analytics cookies described above at any time using our cookie banner, shown when you first visit the site. The other cookies listed on this page are necessary for the website to work properly.

If you’d prefer not to have any cookies set at all, you can block or delete cookies using your browser’s own settings, though this may affect your ability to use parts of our website. Find out how to manage cookies on popular browsers:
